Riverbed Unveils New Web Content Optimisation Tool
Riverbed Stingray – the market-leading network optimising appliance – has just been extended to make web pages load much faster.
The news means that organisations may not need to depend on developers getting to grips with current best practice web content optimisation techniques, plus avoiding the need to add in configuration for hands-off optimisation.
In a recent blog post on the significance of the announcement, the WAN optimisation specialist’s senior product marketing manager Mike Iem explains that all this is due to the Stingray Aptimizer Express, an add-on module for the Stingray Traffic Manager.
Aptimizer offers a set of robust optimisations that accelerate the delivery of most web pages and is available in two versions: Express and a fuller version, Enterprise.
Express is said to offer an average reduction in the number of resources downloaded by an impressive first page view of 15 per cent – rising to 58 per cent for subsequent ones, says Iem.
“Aptimzer Express provides a safe set of preconfigured website optimisation techniques that speed up page load times, shrink data sizes and reduce bandwidth costs,” Iem confirms, adding that all this comes “without the need for time consuming manual configuration”.
