Riverbed Supports Think Project! Growth
Riverbed Technology has announced that think project! is using Riverbed SteelApp Traffic Manager to improve several aspects of its cloud platform.
Based in Munich, think project! provides a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for engineering and construction companies. Using SteelApp from Riverbed – the leader in application performance infrastructure – the German company has improved the scalability, stability, reliability, and security of its collaboration platform.
When it outgrew its open-source load balancer, think project! required improved infrastructure with higher security standards that would scale as the business continued to grow. It turned to Riverbed SteelApp Traffic Manager, a next-generation virtual application delivery controller (ADC) that offers load balancing, built-in security and authentication services as well as a TrafficScript scripting and configuration language, and compatibility with analytical tools such as Google Analytics.
Having been set up in 2000, think project!’s cross-enterprise collaboration platform is now available in 21 languages and used by more than 100,000 people working on 8,000 projects in 40 countries with customers including Audi, BMW, Munich Airport, and Lufthansa Technik.
Jochen Maurer, head of product management at think project!, said: “In the end, it was very easy for us to choose Riverbed SteelApp out of the four products we reviewed. We tested various ADC solutions in practice, and Riverbed won us over both in terms of technical aspects and price.
“Without having to adapt our own software, SteelApp enables us to use analytical tools like Google Analytics… I am also still amazed at how unbelievably fast and easy it is to learn TrafficScript.”
