Riverbed ‘Sole Visionary’ In Latest Gartner ADC Magic Quadrant

In a recent ‘Magic Quadrant’ overview of Application Delivery Controllers (ADC), IT trend setters Gartner have singled out Riverbed’s Stingray product family as a ‘visionary’ offering in this sector of the tech market. As the only vendor in this category Riverbed appreciates Gartner’s recognition and has stated their dedication to providing innovative and further enhanced ADC solutions.

This designation highlights Riverbed’s understanding of where the market is going and, with reference to the Stingray feature set, how they can help with what analysts identify as the “growing challenges” business and service providers face when providing reliable website application performance.

The study states that ADCs, like Stingray, play a crucial role in addressing such challenges as they bridge the gap between an application and any traditional, packet-based network trying to deliver it. For example, Stingray not only automates the deployment but also facilitates the licensing and metering of application delivery services which can dramatically cut time to production.

“Since we launched the Stingray product suite, we’ve focussed on technology and business transformation for customers that harness the power of virtualised data centres and the cloud,” confirms Riverbed’s Jeff Pancottine, GM of the Stingray application delivery business at the San Francisco-headquartered supplier.

Riverbed, a WAN optimisation specialist , offers customers ways to improve application performance.
