Riverbed Named “Leader” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant 2016

Riverbed Technology, the leader in application performance infrastructure, has announced that Gartner has positioned Riverbed SteelCentral as a Leader in its 2016 Magic Quadrant for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD), marking Riverbed’s third consecutive year in the “Leaders” position of this report. The entire Gartner report can be viewed at http://rvbd.ly/1o10t5z. Riverbed is also named a Leader in Gartner’s March 17, 2015 Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimisation and a Challenger in Gartner’s December 17, 2015 Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring Suites.

“As companies make the ‘digital transformation’ they need visibility and insight into their network and application performance more than ever – because their business depends on it – and yet it’s harder to achieve because of all the added IT complexity. Today, Riverbed provides the most comprehensive visibility across hybrid and cloud IT environments, and we’re thrilled that Gartner, in its latest Magic Quadrant for NPMD, has again named Riverbed a leader,” said Mike Sargent, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Riverbed SteelCentral Business Unit.

“Our Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics solutions are a core and integral part of SteelCentral, the command centre for application performance,” Sargent continued. “With our strong positions in both Gartner’s NPMD and APM Magic Quadrants, we believe Riverbed SteelCentral is now recognised as the undisputed leader in end-to-end performance management across networks and applications.”

The NPMD market is a fast-growing segment of the larger network management space. Gartner estimates the size of the NPMD tool market at $1.1 billion and growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.0%, according to Gartner’s “Market Share Analysis: IT Operations Management Software, Worldwide, 2014.”
