Arbor Networks Awarded Two Coveted Prizes
Arbor Networks has won two prizes at the Annual 2014 Hot Companies and Best Products Awards.
Arbor Networks, a leading provider of distributed denial of service (DDoS) and advanced threat protection solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, bagged the Gold Award in the Best Overall IT Company category. The company also was awarded the Bronze Award for Best New Product of the Year thanks to its Arbor Cloud solution.
The accolades were handed out at the ninth annual iteration of the coveted ceremony, with Arbor cementing its standing as a market leader when it comes to provide cutting edge cloud-based security products.
Arbor Networks’ president Matthew Moynahan commented on the awards: “It is very gratifying to see Arbor recognised in this way.
“We’ve worked really hard to expand beyond our DDoS roots to deliver an integrated platform of security solutions which can identify and block not only DDoS attacks, but complex and targeted attacks coming into or trying to leave an organisation’s distributed network, with tightly coordinated workflow, security analytics and forensics that bring context to massive amounts of data.
“As a result, Arbor has never had a stronger portfolio and that is due to the people behind our solutions, so we’re thrilled with this recognition.”
DDoS attacks target a single service, flooding it with incoming messages. This forces it to shut down, thereby denying service to the system to legitimate users.
The award-winning Arbor Cloud means that large companies can deploy best practice defence in a single solution. The product helps protect enterprises against a wide spectrum of DDoS attacks, including volumetric, application-layer, state-exhaustion, blended and multi-vector DDoS attacks. Essentially this allows IT staff to maintain control of the mitigation, therefore allowing them to respond quickly when threats such as this appear.
However, the most notable achievement is the Gold Award for the Best Overall IT Company of the Year. It is a recognition of the quality of not only Arbor’s products but also of its entire delivery and customer service package.
One of the company’s defining features is the Arbor’s Active Threat Level Analysis System, or ATLAS. This is a collaborative project with over 300 service provider customers who have agreed to share anonymous traffic data.
ATLAS is the world’s largest global threat analysis system. It offers a truly unique vantage point, something that in turn means that Arbor is ideally positioned to deliver intelligence about DDoS, malware and botnets that threaten internet infrastructure and network availability.
The firm states that its customers therefore enjoy a considerable competitive advantage through a unique combination of a micro view of their own network traffic combined with a macro view of global Internet traffic. This is a powerful combination of network security intelligence that Arbor says “is unrivalled today”.
The Network Products Guide, an industry leading technology research and advisory publication, was the organisation behind the awards. It provides IT professionals with information and tools about the best products, services, roadmaps, industry directions, technology advancements and independent products to help them in their decision making process.
